THE HOUSE
We call it the Milky WayFarer (wanna know why we call it the Milky WayFarer, click here.)

Experience the enchantment of Marfa at the Milky WayFarer—a stylish desert retreat for families, couples, or friends. This luminous getaway features two plush bedrooms with king-sized beds, two full baths, and a bright, open-plan kitchen and living area. Outside, test your mini-golf skills on the quirky 4-hole course, ride the nostalgic Mustang spring rider, cruise town on house bikes, stargaze from the fenced-in yard, and unwind beneath the vast desert sky—your Big Bend basecamp awaits.

Completed in 2023, The Milky WayFarer was designed with a modern eclectic touch to be cozy, colorfully simple, and refreshingly welcoming. Perfect for small groups or families, this thoughtfully crafted retreat invites you to relax and recharge beneath the big West Texas sky. With two light-filled bedrooms, roomy bathrooms, and common areas that balance comfort with a splash of artful flair, it’s ideal for both laid-back lounging and lively conversation.
Situated on the west side of town, you’re just a short walk to Marfa favorites like The Waterstop, Bordo, and a handful of delightfully strange and stylish shops. Want to go deeper? Grab one of our four bikes and pedal your way to a day of dining, gallery hopping, and people-watching (yes, even the tumbleweeds are photogenic here).
The Kitchen
Our fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to whip up dinner—or just reheat that burrito from Marfa Burrito (the same place Anthony Bourdain couldn't get enough of). With generous counter space, a center bar, and a stainless steel stove and oven, it’s made for shared meals and midnight snacks alike. Pony up to the bar for a cocktail or ease into the morning with coffee or tea. We believe in your vision. Whether it's a Michelin-star meal or cereal at midnight, the kitchen is ready. Our sleek stainless steel fridge has filtered water on tap—perfect for staying hydrated between mezcal tastings or desert daydreams. Go ahead, press that lever like it’s fancy.
Living Room
Comfy and cool, the living room features a chaise lounge sofa and two chairs—perfect for post-hike naps, deep desert musings, or movie nights on the lowkey massive 65" smart TV. The open floor plan lets vibes (and conversation) flow freely between the kitchen and living area. And when the desert air dips in the evening, flip on the electric fireplace for instant coziness without the campfire commitment.
Bedroom One
Just down the hall, Bedroom One is a study in relaxed desert style—featuring a king-sized bed, plush layered bedding, and robes for lounging like desert royalty. Designed with a mix of bright-but-neutral tones and soft textures, the space feels equal parts vibrant and serene. Sunlight pours in by day, filling the room with warmth. At night, blackout shades offer privacy—or leave them open and let the stars do their thing.
Bathroom One
Right across from Bedroom One, this spacious bath features a double-sink vanity and a large shower with bold geometric tile. The washer and dryer are tucked away here too—ready for laundry days or dusty trail cleanups.
Bedroom Two + Bathroom Two
Bedroom Two brings more of our warm, artful charm with a second king-sized bed and bright decor. The en-suite bathroom has another double vanity and a large shower. You’ll argue over who gets this one. (Or flip a coin—it’s Marfa, not Monaco.)
Fenced Zen - aka Backyard
The fenced backyard is your own private slice of desert chill—designed for gathering, lounging, and the occasional mini-golf showdown. Challenge your crew on the quirky 4-hole putt-putt course, relive your playground glory days on the vintage Mustang spring rider, or just sink into the large outdoor sectional and soak up the stars. Light the fire pit for s’mores (if county ordinances allow), fire up the charcoal grill, and let the desert night do the rest. Sit, sip, eat, stargaze. Repeat.
Beach Cruiser Bikes
Marfa was practically built for slow rolls and scenic detours. We’ve got four bikes ready to go—perfect for cruising to brunch, gallery hopping, or just seeing where the road (and that one very chill street dog) takes you. Helmets are available, and while wearing one is optional, not wearing one is your call (and your risk). Looking cool, however? Mandatory.
A Little Marfa Magic: Book Swap
Our tiny take-a-book, leave-a-book library is perfect for lazy mornings or starry nights. Forgot your book? Borrow one. Finished yours? Leave it behind for the next traveler. Think of it as Prada Marfa for paperbacks.
Parking
Parking in Marfa is refreshingly drama-free. Pull up and park for free right out front of the house—no cryptic signage, no meter maids, and definitely no reverse-angle parallel parking gymnastics. Just you, your ride, and the open West Texas street.
Pets
We love dogs—and they’ll love the fully fenced, wraparound yard for their own little Marfa adventure. Just a few ground rules to keep tails wagging and the house in top shape:
- Pups must be crated if left alone inside.
- Please scoop the poop. Desert magic doesn’t cover that.
- No dogs on beds or furniture (even if they ask nicely).
- Sadly, we don’t host cats. Too many throw pillows at stake.

If you’ve made it this far, you’re either really thorough (we appreciate that) or already dreaming of desert nights and mini-golf glory. Either way, if you have any questions—about anything you’ve read or something we didn’t cover—don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re happy to help and always down to chat Marfa, mezcal, or what book to borrow from the shelf.
